Fun Facts

  • Located in the backard of Vince Hannemann's home, the Cathedral of Junk includes 60 tons of discarded furniture, lawn ornaments, and junk, in an ever-changing artistic display. Tours by appointment only. $10/group suggested donation
  • In 1986, three staffers came up with the idea of a festival to highlight the city's local musical talents. The next year, South by Southwest launched with 700 attendees. Since then, the festival which occurs yearly in mid-March has branched out to include film and digital media and been attended by over 28,000 people
  • The museum includes an array of curios & oddities, from Bigfoot to shrunken heads. Admission is $12
